Quantum 6 Sun

CAUTION  Imaging the Sun can be habit forming. This collection began shortly after the August 21, 2017 total eclipse and is presented in chronological order.  Most file names are date and time (ET).

These images were taken using a Quantum 6 telescope, a 2x telecentric amplifier, Daystar Quark Combo H-alpha filter, or Solar Spectrum SO15.3, or both, and a Point Grey Grasshopper GX CCD camera. A full aperture energy rejection filter (D-ERF) is needed to reduce the heat entering the telescope.

Images are captured using Astro IIDC then run through Autostakkert, IMPPG, and a final touch-up in Photoline on an old MacBook Pro. The setup can be seen in the image Here.
